    1. She wasn't normal. She had mental problems. There was signs of it in her first marriage to Tom. Study her attitude in how she treated
Tom and the boys. That girl was a mental case
to begin with. I hated that scene when she put her son in the tub and showered him with cold water (when he was clothed). She gotten worst at the end. Which was true (evil).

    2. That woman was bitter as hell and selfish. She was definitely not normal and sick. It's sad how obsessed she was with her children to have them suffer and die

  2. A murderous mind is satans love, we all sit and ask, WHY? Thats because we are normal, insanity ran deep in that family, too bad that poor father of those boys.Too bad that he Could not see that then, but then we all fall for the wrong person too, But the law is slow, common sence with law makers are slow too.If the sytem had taken the children until the matter was closed on the divorce, then maybe those boys, may have had a great life with there father. This kind of slow justice constantly go's on, such as the case of the recent murders of the other two boys in Utah.

    1. A murdeous mind is satan's love, you are absolutely correct.Lived in Winston-Salem the time of these murders. Hit too close to home. Passed by the Newsome's beutiful home freqauently, going to my husband's uncle's house, many, many times. If only the cops and attorneys had listened to Tom Lynch, maybe his children would be alive today. My heart still goes out to him. Hope he is doing well. He is in everyone's thoughts and prayers after all this time.

  3. Movie is on today, again. I still cannot bel ieve that Susie blew her own boys up rather than let tom see them. She was maniac. Too bad she wasn't diagnosed as a manic sadistic person then this would not have happened. And Fritz, he was a spoiled kid who grew up into a spoiled adult. Too bad they both died as it would have been justice to see them both rot in jail 4 the rest of their lives.

  5. There is no Satan. People are responsible for their actions. This movie is on today. People have been taught by religion to pass the blame. Like," the devil made me do it!" Or "God spoke to me & told me to. Etc."

    1. This movie is very sad. I am such a Kelly Mcgillis fan, but I hated her as Susie Newsome. That lady was crazy. The mother saw it from the beginning. My heart goes out to those babies.

PS, I am a fan of Kelly Mcgillis again. I just saw her in "The accused". She was great.

    1. Right and that means Susie been wanted them dead because she was too obsessive over them. Sad to think that everyone knew or noticed her odd signs and behavior and never spoke up smh. I mean look how she reacted to her parent's death and talked to her kids

  7. THAT WAS A SAD MOVIE SUSIE SHOULD HAVE JUST LET THE BOYS SEE THEIR DAD. THERE ARE SOME MEN WELL MOST MEN WHO DOES NOT INVOLVE THEMSELVES WITH THEIR KIDS AT ALL. TOM WAS A GREAT FATHER WHO DESERVED TO SEE HIS KIDS AS MUCH AS HE WANTED TO. SUSIE USED THOSE KIDS TO HURT HIM BECAUSE HE HAD MOVED ON WITH HIS LIFE. THE LIFE SHE LEFT AND NO LONGER WANTED ANYMORE.

    1. I totally agree! He shouldn't have let the kids go back after him and his wife seen those pills this boys were taking. I mean common sense would have been to take them out the home if they didn't look healthy. The sons should have definitely spoke up too.

  8. I just saw the movie today. Its sad that that woman was so weak minded to let herself be manipulated. Yes, She might have had mental illness that was enhanced by this "cousin" but to be so selfish as too not let her boys see their father and let them be happy. It would be interesting to find out if she had mental issues before he married her and just saw past them. I suppose its one of those woulda, coulda, shouda. I can't imagine that poor man's life after this happened to him. Like he said " He played by the rules" I bet he would have been put in jail if he had not returned those boys to their crazy mom. I also wonder what the motivation might have been. Money? Or just pure hatred. I just feel bad. He didn't get to see his sons grow up. Just tragic and very sad.

  9. Any mother that would kill her children is evil. I remeber when this happened. It was so sad. I was working in Winston-Salem at the time. I could not believe what happened. It was just so hard to understand why anyone could do something like that. I pray that the father has been able to go on with his life as best he can. I know from experience, burying your child is the hardest thing that you will ever have to do, but for your children to have been murdered by their mother is just so hard to comprehend. He probably wonders everyday, what could I have done that would have changed the outcome.

  10. Am watching the movie again right now. Jerry Bledsoe's book was riveting and spot on. Every time I watch, I wish it wouldn't end the way it did. So, so sad.

  11. This movie is honestly the sadest movie I've ever seen. I'm a mother of a five year old boy n two year old girl n could never do such harm to my babies they mean the world to me n they are the best thing that's ever happened to me in my life. She was no mother and how could the police or judge not do anything to them horrible people they make me sick. To Tom n Cathy I'm so sorry for the lose of your two beautiful boys.

I have watched the movie so many times and Susie n Fritz were as sick as they get.My heart goes out to the boys' father n Kathy... those boys deserved a normal life which they never got the chance to enjoy...The only time they got a chanve of normality was the few short lived moments with their dad...I am a mother of 2 kids n they r my world and I would do anything for them....MY heart breaks over this sad tragic story....

  14. I just finished watching the 4-hours movie...It took 3 days for me to watch it due to weekly schedule. This was just one of the saddest movies I have ever watched. I wished it was fiction but this was a true story. Susie should have been diagnosed and institutionalized so she could not have married or given birth to those two beautiful young boys. This woman was mentally ill and selfish to the umpteenth degree. She should have let the boys lived and blown up she and Fritz...
